Applications will be evaluated based on the following elements:
1. Program Design:
Your creativity can be unleashed here! The only conditions we place on your program’s design are:
- It must be a new initiative.
- Funding request must be for the current Academic Year.
- It must be advertised and open to all students on campus.
- Mini-Grant funding support for the program will be indicated on all advertising and marketing.
- Mini-Grant applicants must attend the event they are funded for and are responsible for hosting/escorting guests.
Student Leadership & Engagement staff will work with you on these elements to ensure you meet this requirement.
2. Faculty/Staff Involvement:
Partnerships are the key in this category! We’re looking for examples of faculty support widened by inclusion in curriculum, extra credit being offered for attendance, faculty/staff co-sponsorships, and faculty participation in open group discussions.
3. Educational Outcomes:
We’d like to see increased awareness of topical issues or involvement in future activities as a measurement of this element. As a component of in-class instruction, this element is pretty much a given!
4. Involving Students in the Planning Process:
While the objective is to build working partnerships, we realize there are some projects between students and faculty/staff that may offer limited opportunities for students to assist in planning. Therefore, to satisfy this criteria, mandatory class attendance will be considered.
